Mayors Visit – 9th May 2021

Over 3 weeks into the Ramadan 2021 campaign, we had a visit from the Preston Mayor Councillor David Borrow who generously gave up his Sunday afternoon to visit us, as well as present us with a ‘City Hero Award’.

This recognition came at an opportune moment as the team were exhausted juggling work, fasting, family and the volunteering role.

The Trustees ensured that all volunteers and the catering team were invited to meet the Mayor, have pictures taken and make it a celebratory event by ordering sweet, nutty milk drink for all to take home and enjoy when they opened their fast.  It was a great moral boost and an opportunity to celebrate what we have achieved.
