On an overcast summer day, volunteers were invited to the Preston City Council (PCC) award ceremony at the Town Hall in the city centre.

It’s an amazing historic building and being inside the chamber and the mayor’s parlour made the event extra special and an honour.

Preston’s Promise attended because we wanted to give prominence to our volunteers the amazing role they play. Without willing and committed volunteers, Preston’s Promise would not exist or be able to function.

It was very humbling to see so many and a variety of groups in attendance and the amazing work they carry out. The award was well deserved by the groups and particularly highlighting the effort, time and commitment of the volunteers.

The mayor gave out the certificates supported by Cllr Nweeda Khan and the Preston Volunteers and Community team.

Thank you for our certificate. It is much appreciated.
